Well, what can I say....guess I need to practice some more. Had a pretty nice doe come out at about 35yds and thought I had her dead to rights....drew back and let it rip. And forgot to relax my grip on the bow! ARGH!!!!!!! arrow hit her square in the middle of the hip! Managed to find my arrow still intact surpisingly judging by the amount of brush she ran through to get away! I'm sure she's still alive and kicking but she'll have a limp for a while. Moved the blind so it wouldn't be in the direct sunlight and waited and watched the same two deer come out at about 70yds two days in a row. On the third day of watching the same two come out at the same spot, had a doe blind side me and come out at 30yds on the button. Pulled up and shot and watched the arrow go under her missing the sweet spot by two inches. Guess that's why it's called hunting and not killing. I'm not gonna let it get me down. Going back out this morning and try again. Practiced a little before going to work yesterday evening and made sure my bow was dialed in. Crossing fingers.

Well I've had one day in the woods so far this season. Thats going to change the next few days. I'm going to try to log some hours in the stand this week. Maybe work won't call and the wife will feel better.

If torqueing your bow is a problem, I have seen an easy solution on another forum. They have a small piece of something(proabably stiff) that is pointed fitting in your hand so you dont grip it and it is strapped on. That way you have a proper grip technique. It could be used as a training aid, so that you develope good technique and wouldnt have to use it while hunting.

hey country, if you could find a link to the item you mentioned, I would be interested in looking into trying it. I think its more a mental thing with me. I can hit the target block over and over no problem, but when the target becomes animated, I tend to forget about relaxing my grip. Wonder if a 3-d target would help me got over the "fever"?

I've worked to break the habit of the grip the bow issue and haven't caught myself doing it in a long time, but I may still have to give that a try just as a practice aid. I'll put up a review in the gear and reviews area.
