Opening Day Empty Opening Day

Post by LilyB Sun Oct 02, 2011 9:29 pm

Spending the night before the first day of season on a hard surface is to be expected UNLESS you are trying to keep a cat calm. Our daughter's cat had seizures all night Friday and I was on the floor with her. I only got to hunt for a couple of hours, but it was sure good to spend opening morning in a deer blind. I had to have the cat, (Lucifer), to the vet by 8:30. When I got home, Rick's harness was laying on the living room floor. I gave him a call, "Where are you at?" His words, "Dragging her out". That was a great way to begin the season. Rick hunts with a Matthew Z-7, and you can't eat horns. Serves her (the deer) right for eating our garden. 1 down - many more to go. Pictures to follow at a later date.

I put one down on Monday. She'll eat good. Missed her brother and didnt get a shot at thier daddy. Her brother ran off with my arrow. The big one was just too far out.
